Outdoor Activities in Nashville
Nashville is one of the most beautiful cities in Tennessee. Despite the fact that Nashville is known as a city filled with Musicians, people here also love being outdoors and keeping active. This is especially important if you have hyperactive kids. Asking them to play quietly inside your home is just not going to be an option for very long. The challenge however is figuring out what kind of outdoor activities your family will love and then locating suitable facilities for those activities. Here is a list of fun things to do outdoors in Nashville that I think you and your family will enjoy.
Nashville Zipline Adventure at Fontanel
A trip to Nashville Zipline Adventure is the perfect way to feed your inner daredevil. For just under $60, you and whoever you choose to take along can soar through the sky just beneath the canopy formed by trees that have been around for hundreds of years. Some of the zip lines are about 85 feet tall and almost 1000 feet in length. The aerial view is simply amazing and the thrill you will feel as you zip along will be unforgettable. I wouldn’t suggest this ride for children under 12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult. I guarantee this will be a trip to remember.
Nashville Zoo
If you have children, I you can’t go wrong with a trip to the Nashville Zoo. There is no minimum age or weight requirement here. Your children will love getting to see and interact with animals from around the planet. The zoo has an aviary, large water bodies teeming with fish and flamingoes and even a number of other interesting animals. The facility also has a sizeable play area for your young ones as well. Admission will cost less than $20 per person and I can assure you that it will be money well spent.
Bicycle Tour of Nashville
Touring the beautiful city of Nashville on a bicycle is another outdoor adventure I encourage you to consider. Even if you have lived here for years, you will discover so much more while touring the city on your bicycle. The tour groups are kept relatively small to make the experience even more intimate and enjoyable. The bikeways are also quite scenic and it will not require too much effort for you to keep up with the group. The guides also make it their point of duty to show you the best restaurants and shops in town.
Nashville Carriage Ride
A carriage ride is the most romantic way to travel. This 20 minute tour begins at the intersection of Broadway and 2nd Avenue and continues down to Lower Broadway. While it is important that you find creative ways to keep your kids entertained, it is just as essential that you and your spouse carve out some alone time together. This is an affordable way to show them that you still care and to keep the spark going. This tour will also give you the opportunity to check out some of the best restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities in town.
